Focus and Scope Journal of Health and Behavioral Science (JHBS) is an open-access journal, publishes research from various topics in psychology. We dedicated ourselves in developing psychology and behavioral sciences in the world, especially in the areas of: Health Psychology Clinical Psychology Psychology of Education Social and Community Psychology Developmental Psychology Cognitive Psychology Health Promotion and Community Health JHBS publishes Regular Empirical Articles, Literature Reviews (e.g. scoping review, systematic review), Meta-analyses and Special Sections with a particular thematic focus. Articles published in JHBS were selected through a blind review process conducted by JHBS editors and reviewers. This process considers several factors such as the relevance of the article and its contribution to the development of psychological and professional practices and compliance with the requirements of the published article. Abstract

Work ethic is a person's attitude, view, and belief toward his work. This study aims to describe the work ethic of traditional Timorese woven cloth weavers at Sentra Tenun Ina Ndao Kupang, which is seen based on work aspects such as moral obligations, work discipline, and pride in work results. This type of research is qualitative research. The primary informants in this study amounted to 6 people. The results of the study showed that the six informants saw work as a moral obligation in terms of being responsible for fulfilling their own needs as well as for others. In the aspect of work discipline, the six informants see work as a form of self-awareness of the rules that exist in the workplace and their sincerity in completing work. As well as in the aspect of pride in work results, the six informants see work as a form of appreciation for work results to improve the quality of their work. The implications of the results of this research for the weavers are that they become aware of what a work ethic is and the importance of having and improving a work ethic in individuals and groups when working to produce good work results.

Abstract

Adolescence is a time of transition from child to adult. At this point there are various biological and psychological changes that affect the nature of the individual in relationships. Peers are one of the most important factors and should not be underestimated in adolescence. Peer pressure can have a positive or negative impact. Peer pressure and popularity can influence individuals' behavior. The purpose of this study was to determine the association between the intensity of alcohol consumption in relation to peer pressure and popularity among adolescents in NTT. This type of research is quantitative correlation and is tested using Spearman's correlation hypothesis test. The sample in this study included 361 adolescents aged 15-20 years. The sampling technique was carried out according to the convenience sampling method. Collection of data using a questionnaire and analysis using the JASP program. The results of this study indicate that there is an association between peer pressure and the intensity of alcohol consumption (r = 0.165 p = 0.002) and an association between popularity and the intensity of alcohol consumption (r = 0.155 p = 0.155 p = 0.003), such that H0 discarded and H1 is received. The conclusion is that there is a correlation between peer pressure and popularity with the intensity of alcohol consumption.

Abstract

Lembaga Pemasyarakatan merupakan tempat bagi individu yang melakukan tindak pidana untuk dibina dan dibimbing sebagai bentuk dari konsekuensi atas perilaku mereka, yang kemudian dikenal sebagai anak didik pemasyarakatan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat hubungan dukungan sosial keluarga dengan kesejahteraan psikologis pada anak didik pemasyarakatan di lembaga pembinaan khusus anak klas 1 kupang. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu kuantitatif korelasional. Subjek penelitian ini yaitu 30 anak didik yang sedang menjalani masa pembinaan di Lembaga Pembinaan Khusus Anak Klas 1 Kupang. Pengambilan sampel menggunakan teknik total sampling. Metode pengumpulan data menggunakan skala dukungan sosial keluarga yang terdiri dari 37 aitem dan skala kesejahteraan psikologis yang terdiri dari 25 aitem dengan model skala likert. Analisis data menggunakan analisis korelasi Pearson Product Moment menggunakan bantuan program SPSS. Hasil penelitian adalah terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara dukungan sosial keluarga dengan kesejahteraan psikologis pada anak didik pemasyarakatan di lembaga pembinaan khusus anak klas 1 kupang dengan koefisien r=0,413 dan p = 0,002 < 0,05 yang berarti bahwa semakin tinggi dukungan sosial keluarga semakin tinggi pula kesejahteraan psikologis dan sebaliknya semakin rendah dukungan sosial keluarga maka semakin rendah kesejahteraan psikologis pada anak didik pemasyarakatan di Lembaga Pembinaan Khusus Anak Klas 1 Kupang sehingga hipotesis H1 diterima. Hasil analisis data diperoleh sumbangan dukungan sosial keluarga terhadap kesejahteraan psikologis sebesar 17,1% sedangkan 82,9% dipengaruhi oleh faktor lain yang tidak diteliti dalam penelitian ini.

Abstract

Cinderella complex occurs because of the powerlessness in women caused by a lack of independence. Cinderella complex women who are in a relationship will do anything to their partner as long as they always together even though often experience violence both physically and verbally, women still do not want to be separated from their partner because they are very dependent on and need him and even consider as someone who will help her to live a better life. The aims of this study are to know tends and dominant factor of Cinderella complex at sixth semester of Psychology Study Program students, Public Health Faculty, Undana. It is a quantitative descriptive study. This study’s respondent are 123 students aged 20-23 years old. The results are students’ tendency to Cinderella complex is on medium level (89,43%), 21 years old and class A and C students tend to Cinderella complex is on high level. Self-infused submissiveness is the most dominant factor on Cinderella complex.

Abstract

Emerging adulthood in romantic relationships, especially those in long distance relationships, has the possibility of cyber dating violence to occur, for this reason it is necessary to have self control in romantic relationships. This study aims to determine the relationship between self control and cyber dating violence in couples undergoing long distance relationships in Kupang City. This type of quantitative research with a correlational approach. Participants in the study were 368 women and men who had or were in a long distance relationship, aged 18-25 years. Collecting data using the Self Control Scale (Cronbach' = 0.917) which consists of 2 dimensions, namely the dimensions of inhibition and initiation; and Cyber ​​Dating Violence Scale (Cronbach' = 0.952) which consists of 2 dimensions, namely psychological violence and relational violence. Data analysis using Spearman Rank. The results of the analysis show that there is a significant relationship between self control and cyber dating violence. Abstract

Online shopping is a transaction process carried out through media or intermediaries in the form of online buying and selling sites or social networks that provide goods or services that are traded. This study aims to determine the description of online shopping behavior in emerging adulthood aged 18-25 years in Kupang City. The approach used is a quantitative approach with a descriptive research type. The sample in this study amounted to 381 students in Kupang City aged 18-25 years. The sampling technique used was probability sampling with the method of proportionate stratified random sampling. The results of the study found that the data obtained through categorization and the odd ratio found that male students were more likely to do online shopping behavior of 0,24 times compared to women, while based on the age of thw students who 22-25 years old and over tend to do online shopping behavior by 2,37 times compared to students aged 18-21 years.

Abstract

Along with the Covid-19 vaccination, the public is encouraged to continue to apply health protocols. Individuals who have been vaccinated still have a risk of contracting Covid-19. This study analyzed the correlation of knowledge, the availability of facilities, and family support with the application of health protocols after Covid-19 vaccination among FKM students. The research used analytic observational with a cross-sectional approach and 296 students as the research sample, obtained with a stratified random sampling technique. The results showed that there was a correlation between knowledge (p 0.000), availability of facilities (p = 0.000), and family support (p = 0.000) with the implementation of post-Covid-19 vaccination health protocols for FKM students. FKM students should be good role models and use different ways of health promotion to raise the public’s awareness of the significance of health protocol implementation after the Covid-19 vaccination.

Abstract

This study was conducted to determine several factors related to sleep quality in students who are working on a thesis at FKM Undana. This research is a quantitative research using a cross sectional design. The population in this study were FKM Undana students who were working on a thesis totaling 283 students. Based on the results of Key's research that there is a significant relationship between physical, physical activity, stress, and sleep quality and there is no relationship between environmental factors and sleep quality. The sample of this research is the final year students of FKM Undana. Suggestions to students who are working on theses are expected to be able to maintain health, manage stress to get good quality sleep.

Abstract

Fear of success is a form of anxiety caused by a desire to achieve success, but worrying about the consequences of their success. The tendency fear of success can have a negative impact on individual employees, jobs, and companies. The research hypothesis is that there a relationship between loss of femininity, loss of social self-esteem, social rejection with job satisfaction on female employees at Bank NTT. The research participants were 107 female employees at Bank NTT using purposive sampling with data analysis using Spearman Rank correlation. The results say there is no relationship between loss of femininity and job satisfaction because the value of sig. 0.080 and correlation value -0.170, while there is a relationship between loss of social self-esteem and job satisfaction, because the value of sig. 0.000 and correlation value -0.350, and there is a relationship between social rejection and job satisfaction, because the value of sig. 0.000 and the correlation value -0.466.

Abstract

Online learning that is implemented suddenly makes students experience fatigue related to excessive use of virtual communication platforms. If students are not able to face this extreme situation, students will experience stress. The stress in question is academic stress. The way for students to be able to cope with academic stress is that students must be resilient, which means they are able to survive in difficult situations. The difficult situation involved here is academic stress itself. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between academic resilience and academic stress online for students in Kupang City. This study uses a quantitative method with the type of research that is a correlational study. Respondents in this study were active students aged 18-25 years in Kupang City who carried out online totaling 334 students. The hypothesis proposed is H0 that is there is no significant relationship between academic resilience and academic stress and H1 is that there is a significant relationship between academic resilience and academic stress. The scale of this study uses two kinds of scales, namely the academic resilience scale and the academic stress scale. Data analysis using Spearman Rank. The results showed that there was no significant relationship between academic resilience and academic stress online for students in Kupang City. This can be seen at the value of R = -0.042 and P = 0.441 (p < 0.05). Therefore, it is concluded that H1 is rejected.
